rstMQTT

Inspired by the awesome MQTT Explorer, rstMQTT is a little experiment of mine on how few is needed to debug the MQTT chatter at home. With as little as ~22MB, this Rust based alternative is roughly 4 times smaller than the mentioned alternative. However, one of the main reasons I started building rstMQTT was the lack of a native build of MQTT Explorer for OpenSUSE.

It provides a similar functionality as its big brother:

  • Browse topics with live counters, change highlights and filtering.
  • Inspect payloads as text, JSON, hex or Base64; browse history and compare changes.
  • Publish messages with QoS, retain and MQTT 5 properties, or clear retained messages.
  • Connect over TLS using system certificates or your own CA.

Oh and there is a nice little pulse-graph at the bottom to give you some stats on the network.

Feel free to check it out the Github repo or go straight ahead to the documentation.
