arXiv Schedule
arXiv publishes its announcement schedule in Eastern US time. Below is the same schedule converted to UTC for everyone else like me getting always confused about that. Since Eastern time follows daylight saving, the UTC times shift by one hour between summer and winter.
Daylight saving time (EDT, UTC-4), second Sunday in March to first Sunday in November:
| Submissions received (UTC) | Announced (UTC) | Mailed |
|---|---|---|
| Monday 18:00 to Tuesday 18:00 | Wednesday 00:00 | Wednesday |
| Tuesday 18:00 to Wednesday 18:00 | Thursday 00:00 | Thursday |
| Wednesday 18:00 to Thursday 18:00 | Friday 00:00 | Friday |
| Thursday 18:00 to Friday 18:00 | Monday 00:00 | Monday |
| Friday 18:00 to Monday 18:00 | Tuesday 00:00 | Tuesday |
Standard time (EST, UTC-5), first Sunday in November to second Sunday in March:
| Submissions received (UTC) | Announced (UTC) | Mailed |
|---|---|---|
| Monday 19:00 to Tuesday 19:00 | Wednesday 01:00 | Wednesday |
| Tuesday 19:00 to Wednesday 19:00 | Thursday 01:00 | Thursday |
| Wednesday 19:00 to Thursday 19:00 | Friday 01:00 | Friday |
| Thursday 19:00 to Friday 19:00 | Monday 01:00 | Monday |
| Friday 19:00 to Monday 19:00 | Tuesday 01:00 | Tuesday |
A note to myself: here in Karlsruhe, submit before 20:00 and announcements land at 02:00, in summer and winter alike. Only in the weeks when the US and EU clock changes are out of sync (mid to late March, and late October to early November) does it shift to 19:00 and 01:00.
